Try SUP fitness in the Silverthorne rec pool

Hey fitness junkies: Get your stand-up paddleboard fix without freezing-cold water at the Silverthorne Recreation Center.

On Monday, Aug. 21, the rec center introduces a SUP Fitness class, held in the lap pool at a pleasant 85 degrees or so. The hour-long class is designed to be challenging for athletes of all abilities, featuring a circuit-style regimen using SUP boards for mountain climbers, crunches and treading water. You will get wet, so dress accordingly. A limited number of SUP boards are available to borrow for class. The class runs from 7-8:15 p.m. and costs $15 for passholders or $18 for non-passholders. To sign up, call the rec center at 970-262-7370.
