More than 1,700 snowshoers on 107 teams hit the trails at the Frisco Nordic Center on Saturday, March 7, for the 2015 Tubbs Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer, a walk/run that raised $67,000 for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a national breast cancer research organization.

The event celebrated its 13th year in Frisco with a 3-kilometer walk, a 5K walk, a timed 3K race and a Li’l Romper Dash for children. The winners of the 3K race were Kim Fuller, of Minturn (ages 13-49), and Colleen Ihnken, of Frisco (ages 50-plus), on the women’s side and Chris Douville, of Arvada (ages 13-49), and Mark Ayers, of Colorado Springs (ages 50-plus), for the men.

The Summit County event is the only Romp to Stomp in Colorado, and one of only three others in North America — Vermont, Washington and Ontario. The Summit race has raised more than $1 million since it began. Visit tubbsromptostomp.com for more information.
