Twenty-two year Breck resident loved family and cooking

Memorial services for Lilly M. Siewers 85, of Norfolk, Neb., will be at 11 a.m. today at The Meadows in Norfolk.

Rev. Dave Sellers will officiate. Home for Funerals in Norfolk is in charge of arrangements.

Siewers died May 5 at Faith Regional Health Services.

She was born May 13, 1919 in Fredrikstad, Norway the daughter of Jens and Margit Johansen. Siewers moved to the United States in February 1947 to work as a nurse. She married Hans Siewers on October 5, 1947 at the Norwegians Seamans Church in New York.

She lived and traveled with her husband while he worked for the Air Force until he retired in 1974. The couple then relocated to Breckenridge.

She was active in her church while in Breckenridge and was a member of the Sons of Norway.

Siewers moved to the Meadows in September 1996 after her husband’s passing.

She is survived by two daughters, Turi Meyer of Norfolk and Laila Siewers of Loveland; one brother, Jon; four sisters, Rakel, Synnove, Irene and Bjorg; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, son and son-in-law.
