Two Fort Carson soldiers killed in Iraq

FORT CARSON, Colo. ” Two soldiers assigned to a unit based at Fort Carson were killed when their military vehicle came under a grenade attack in Iraq, military officials said Wednesday.

Sgt. Larry R. Kuhns Jr., 24, of Austintown, Ohio, and Spc. Anthony D. Kinslow, 21, of Westerville, Ohio, died Monday in Ramadi, the Defense Department said.

They were both assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 17th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division.

The brigade has now lost 65 soldiers in Iraq.

The 2nd Brigade will move its headquarters from South Korea to Fort Carson when it wraps up its current tour in Iraq.

Excluding the 2nd Brigade, 56 Fort Carson soldiers have died in Iraq.

Kinslow’s mother declined comment Wednesday.
