Volunteers needed for summer events

BRECKENRIDGE – The Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center is looking for volunteers for events and programs taking place this summer in Summit County.

The BOEC is dedicated to bringing adventure and personal growth to the lives of people with and without disabilities. Volunteers with the BOEC this summer will work with members of the organization to raise money and to positively influence the lives of program participants.

Summer events:

– Nissan TERRA Central Championship at Keystone Resort, July 19-20:

BOEC will be the beneficiary of a trail run event Saturday, July 19, at Keystone Village. Volunteers for bike, run and off-road triathlon races are needed to help with water stations and be course marshals for the TERRA races. A shirt and lunch will be provided to volunteers.

– Breckenridge Crest Mountain Marathon and Blue River Run and Roll 5K in downtown Breckenridge, Aug. 30-31:

This is the ninth-annual Breck Crest Marathon and the third-annual Blue River Run and Roll 5K. Enjoy live music, free food, expo booths, and breathtaking scenic views while volunteering your time.

– Wilderness Youth and Adventure Travel programs, throughout the summer:

The BOEC Wilderness Program is about making adventure available to people who face challenges accessing outdoor recreation. Some summer activities include rock climbing, canoeing, backpacking, whitewater rafting, camping, a ropes course and fishing.
