Ullr Fest King/Queen announced

The Breckenridge Resort Chamber has tabbed Ernie Blake and his fiance, Sharon Magness, as the 2004 Ullr Fest King and Queen.

They will preside over a week’s worth of Ullr Fest frivolity and the Ullr Fest Parade which is 4:30 p.m. Jan. 15.

The parade entry deadline is Jan. 8. Contact Ken Miller of the Breckenridge Resort Chamber at (970) 453-2913 ext. 210.



Prizes will be awarded to the first through third place floats.

Blake is a member of the Breckenridge Town Council and recently proposed marriage to Magness. She accepted.



The king and queen will make their first appearance to be crowned at the Ullr Fest Nordic Event and Bonfire at the Gold Run Nordic Center Jan. 12.

In other Ullr news, the world-famous eight-horse Budweiser Clydesdales will be harnessed to the famous red Budweiser beer wagon for the Ullr Parade and will also make numerous appearances around town.

The horses will become temporary homeowners in Breck, taking up residency in their own heated tent stable in the Wellington Lot.

Public viewing hours with one or more horses are:

n Jan. 10 – 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Wellington Lot;

n Jan. 10 – 1-3 p.m. at Beaver Run;

n Jan. 11 – 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Wellington Lot;

n Jan. 12 – 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Wellington Lot;

n Jan. 12 – time to be announced at the Gold Run Nordic Center;

n Jan. 14 – 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Wellington Lot; and

n Jan. 15 – 9 a.m. to noon at the Wellington Lot.
