Ullr Parade winners announced

Daily News staff report

Train of Debauchery takes first place in Ullr ParadeThe Ullr judges have spoken and selected the Train of Debauchery to Ullr Mountain float in Thursday’s Ullr parade as the first place winner. The mega-float, put together by Breck Velo, Rob Phipps Motor Sports and “Racer Edge” Ski Tuning, featured six vehicles, a ski jump and the Peak 13 chair. Coming in second was the Ullr Kingdom float from Breckenridge Grand Vacations and Ullr Schnapps. The defending champs, Grand Lodge on Peak 7, landed a top spot with their returning kingdom float. The bronze went to Breckenridge Nordic Center with their “Feelin’ Groovy & Crazy,” float, an explosion of psychedelic fun featuring Ullr’s friends from London, England 1960s style. “The judges were blown away by the creativity,” event director Sally Croker said. “Don’t be surprised to see new awards next year. Everyone really enjoyed the efforts to make this the biggest Ullr parade ever.”The winners were selected from 36 participating floats, more than the parade has ever had before. The festivities conclude Saturday with the Chili cook off at the Riverwalk Center.
