US Forest Service cancels pile burnings at Harrington Creek near Silverthorne

Smoke may be visible from areas throughout Summit County including Interstate 70 and Colorado Highway 9

U.S. Forest Service fire management personnel plan to conduct pile burning operations on Wednesday, March 5, at Harrington Creek near Silverthorne, but officials has decided to table the project.

The purpose of the pile burning is to help reduce fuel loading that occurred during hazard tree and wildfire hazardous fuels reductions, according to the news release. To receive day-of notification of prescribed fire activity visit TinyUrl.com/SummitCountyAlerts.
