Vail-Summit Orthopaedics receives MRI accreditation

Vail-Summit Orthopaedics recently regained accreditation for its performance of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) by the American College of Radiology.

Accreditation is awarded after evaluation of personnel, equipment performance, effectiveness of quality control measures and quality of clinical images; all primary factors that affect the quality of clinical images and ultimately the quality of patient care.

Vail-Summit Orthopaedics performed 2,192 MRIs in 2010. Clinic manager Anne Smith says Vail-Summit Orthopaedics stands out as an affordable choice in the surrounding mountain communities.

“We educate and communicate with our patients about cost, insurance coverage, and patient responsibility up front prior to proceeding with the MRI. Additionally, we are able to schedule patients quickly and efficiently, often getting them pre-authorized for same-day or next-day MRIs and follow-ups with their provider.”
