Valley Brook hosts block party and open house Friday

Daily News staff report
A home in Breckenridge's Valley Brook neighborhood, one of nearly 20 deed-resticted properties across Summit County. Due to a recent change in the area median income index, homes in these neighborhoods saw no value increase for the first time in nearly a decade.

BRECKENRIDGE – Valley Brook Neighborhood will host its first ever Block Party & Open House from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday. With the final phase of construction beginning next month, it’s an opportunity to see the development aimed at families and the local workforce while homes are still available. Come early and enjoy some good food, catered by Trisha Lesage. Parking is limited due to continuing construction, but there is a Stage Stop directly in front of the building site on Airport Dr. Dress appropriately (no open-toed shoes) since this is a construction site. Conveniently located in Breckenridge and backing to the county-wide recreational path and the Blue River, these affordable homes combine livability with energy efficiency and sustainability. Neighborhood amenities will include a park, playground and shuttle stop. Homes come with two- and three-bedroom floor plans, two-car garages, front porches and back patios. Valley Brook Neighborhood homes are deed-restricted – prospective buyers must meet certain income and residency criteria to qualify. Valley Brook Neighborhood is just off of Airport Rd., behind the Timberline Learning Center. Go to Residence #18 and look for the food table.
