Vicki Cook: Scanlan no friend of business

Dave Koons, what are you thinking? Does all or even 3/4 SCBA support Scanlan? Maybe that’s why the construction business is dead in Summit. Christine has voted for 11 of the “dirty dozen” bills that hurt small business. She has received $2,000 from Service Employee Insurance Union (SEIU). Her voting record complements ACLU, 91 percent. Holy cow, that tells me she is not for me, the small business person. Then to make the small business person cry even louder she has voted 88 percent for higher taxes. Now my income has dropped considerably and I’ve had to lay off six to 10 employees, cut back hours and tighten up my belt and boot straps. Not Christine – she just votes in a pay raise and I have to divvy up more taxes. See how that works, Dave. If you want her in there for another term, so be it, but don’t endorse her for me because she hasn’t helped me or small business a bit.

I am voting for Debra Irvine. She was endorsed by the Rocky Mountain Chapter of Association Builders and Contractors. Debra knows small business and how it works to create jobs. No more Scanlan, she has had her moment of glory and she sank big time because she took me down too. My vote goes to Irvine.
