Violence is the quick fix for those without compassion

I noticed in my philosophy class recently that when people resort to name calling and insults they don’t have much conviction in their arguments. So they become fearful and angry. After reading letter-writer Ken Rice of Keystone’s comments, who felt it necessary to attack Sue Carr-Novotny’s thoughtful letter instead of simply offering his opinion, I wondered, what are you afraid of Ken? Are you sure it is someone else with their head in the sand? There are always other options, and violence seldom solves anything in the long run. It is, instead, a quick fix for those without compassion or patience.Cindy KeiserBlue River
