Visitor to housing conference boosts Gibson Heights as reason to support housing authority tax

I was in Breckenridge this week for the Colorado Housing Now! Conference and was privileged to tour Gibson Heights, a 38-home subdivision developed by the Summit Housing Authority for people who actually work in Summit County.

Having seen these well-designed homes, I can easily understand why the project is sold out.

Gibson Heights is the best example I have ever seen of a partnership involving all parts of the community, from elected officials to the workers who built the project.

I understand there is a measure on the ballot that would provide ongoing support to the housing authority to continue to provide homes of this quality for the working people of Summit County.

I hope every voter can find the time to visit Gibson Heights before the election. Having seen it, I know that, if I were a resident of the county, I would vote yes without any doubt whatsoever.
