Visitor urges maintenance of smoking bans

Theresa Mickiewicz, Wheat Ridge

I spend a lot of time skiing at Breckenridge every winter. This year, I was looking forward to spending more time at the Breckenridge Brewery listening to music and playing pool without having to go outside to breathe. If Summit County retracts the smoke-free ordinance, I guess me and my friends will just continue to cozy up in our little cabin in Blue River.Wake up! Eighty percent of people do not smoke, and most prefer a smoke-free environment. Tax studies from New York City have clearly shown that revenues have gone up since the city put its ban in place.Could it be that more nonsmokers frequent bars and nightclubs if they know they don’t have to breathe somebody else’s tobacco smoke?
