Volunteers expected to resume search for missing plane in Steamboat
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS ” Relatives of two people missing aboard a twin-engine plane say at least three civilian aircraft are expected to resume the search in northwest Colorado Tuesday.
Pilot Levi Klapperich of Durango and his father, Mark Klapperich of Hayden, disappeared Sunday after leaving the Hayden airport on Sunday.
Family members say they were bound for Fort Collins.
Doug Klapperich, who is the cousin and nephew of the missing men, says family members have set up a volunteer and information center in Steamboat Springs to complement efforts by the Civil Air Patrol and Routt County Search and Rescue.
Search and rescue officials didn’t immediately return a call Tuesday.
