Volunteers needed for weekend BOEC events
The Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center (BOEC) is seeking volunteers for its Labor Day Weekend fundraising events. Volunteers are needed for the Blue River Run and Roll 5-kilometer race on Saturday and the Breckenridge Crest Trail Races, Runners Expo and Kids Area on Sunday. All interested parties should attend a volunteer meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The meeting will take place at the BOEC main office (524 Wellington Rd., Breckenridge) and will include free food and drinks.
All running events take place in downtown Breckenridge. Volunteer duties include course direction, kids area, runners expo, recovery area, aid stations and more. For more information call (970) 453-6422 or visit http://www.boec.org/marathon.
Summit Foundation Duck Race adoption centers
In anticipation of the Great Rubber Duck Race Saturday, The Summit Foundation has duck adoption centers located at the following businesses:
n All Summit County banks
n Dillon Farmers Market each Friday, noon-2:30 p.m.
n Dillon City Market each day, 4:30-6:30 p.m.
n Breckenridge post office, Monday-Friday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., 4:30-6:30 p.m. Saturdays, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Summit Sunday school
Synagogue of the Summit will host another year of Sunday School starting Sept. 7. Janet Wolfson will teach the older students, taking over for Heidi Dickstein. Susan Payer and Mark Lincenberg will continue as teachers.
Sunday school will cover the Jewish holidays, songs, rituals, prayers and the Hebrew alphabet.
Special events are also planned, such as Israeli dance classes and field trips. Cost is $125 for the first child, $100 for a second child and $75 for a third child. All ages are welcome.

Help local families by donating nonperishable food items to the Summit County food bank. Drop off items at the Social Services office at the County Commons building in Frisco.
