Vote for measures 3A and 3B

Frank LillySilverthorne

I am writing regarding the 3A and 3B proposals that will be on the ballot on Nov. 2. I understand that many people have concerns that our tax dollars need to be well-spent. I also understand that the school board got a black eye this past year when they bought out Lynn Spampinato’s contract. As a business owner, I know how easy it is to hire the wrong person, even after performing due diligence in the form of interviews and reference checks. It should also be noted that the school board restructured the staffing and compensation of the administration in order to pay for Dr. Spampinato’s salary. This election should not be about punishing the school board for any mistakes (perceived or real). If these proposals do not pass, the people who will suffer are the kids. I know I do not want to see my daughter attend schools with classes of 30 students. Study after study have shown that the number one factor influencing student success is class size. Please do not punish the kids for any mistakes the school board may have made. Vote yes on 3A and 3B.
