Vote yes for Safeway

Edward J. Mountford, Silverthorne

Safeway is in the center of town of Silverthorne, two miles from the northern boundary and one and a half miles from the southern boundary.

It is at the edge of the current commercial zone and the comprehensive plan supports neighborhood commercial zoning in this area. This project utilizes about 15 percent of the Smith Ranch and only that part that is in the town and leaves open more than half of the highway frontage on Highway 9 to Trent Park.

Silverthorne residents, not those who neighbor us, need to make our most important community decision that impacts our future. Our town council has made the proper decision based on all the facts and we need to support them.

Let us move away from the falsehoods and innuendos that are being promoted by self-interest groups from outside of our town and vote yes Dec. 9.
