The countdown to the ski and ride season is on, and Breckenridge Ski Resort will kick it off with its annual community tradition, Wake Up Breck, on Thursday, Nov. 7, in preparation and celebration of resort’s opening day on Friday, Nov. 8.

On Thursday, Breckenridge Ski Resort invites the community to join them and the town of Breckenridge at participating coffee shops across town to collect a free commemorative mug and a free cup of joe. The event begins at 7 a.m. and lasts until all mugs run out. Mugs typically run out within the hour, so guests are encouraged to arrive early.

Participating coffee shops include Clint’s Bakery & Coffee House, Coffee Depot at Main Street Station, Cool River Cafe, The Crown, Cuppa Joe’s, Daylight Donuts, Mountain View Coffee, Starbucks, Unravel Coffee at Gravity Haus and Ullr Café at the base of Peak 8.

This year, as a part of Wake Up Breck, the resort is partnering with Building Hope to bring awareness to the organization’s mission and their Hope Rising fundraiser. With a growing need for mental health support in mountain communities, Building Hope aims to create a more coordinated, effective and responsive mental health system.

The Hope Rising fundraiser has a goal to raise $100,000 in 40 days so that it can fund efforts like public outreach, community events, life-saving therapy sessions and mental health training.

QR codes for donations will be displayed in coffee shops during Wake Up Breck, and donations can also be made directly to Building Hope’s Hope Rising campaign now via its website, BuildingHopeSummit.com. Breckenridge Ski Resort will be matching all donations collected during Wake Up Breck.
