Wanted: Breckenridge planning commissioners

The Town of Breckenridge is seeking applications from community members to fill up to four, four-year terms on the Planning Commission. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Oct. 18. Applicants must be residents and registered voters in the Town of Breckenridge. Interviews will be conducted by the town council at its Oct. 26 afternoon work session, with an appointment to follow at its evening meeting.

Duties of the seven-member commission include review and determination of requests for variances and conditional use permits, and recommendations to town council on special development districts, subdivisions, rezonings, various town proposed plans and other community matters. The terms of the appointments begin Nov. 1 and expire Oct. 31, 2014. The commission meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at

7 p.m. in the Council Chambers in Breckenridge Town Hall.

Persons interested in serving on the Breckenridge Planning Commission should submit letters of interest and experience, including any experience with: historic preservation, history, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural history, prehistoric or historic archaeology, planning, building trades, cultural geography, cultural anthropology, real estate or law. Letters may be sent by mail to the Community Development Director, PO Box 168, Breckenridge, CO 80424 or in person at the Community Development Department, 150 Ski Hill Road (2nd floor), Breckenridge no later than 5 p.m. on Oct. 18.
