TWIN LAKES On Oscar Sunday, (thats this Sunday), the Twin Lakes Nordic Lodge will host a special dinner and Academy Awards Viewing Party to benefit the inaugural Independence Film Fest of Colorado.The Twin Lakes Nordic Lodge will show the 79th Annual Academy Awards ceremonies in Hollywood live on a big screen with digital satellite broadcast, accompanied by a gourmet three-course buffet dinner, official Oscar ballots, door prizes and a silent auction of autographed memorabilia from the MGM movie Speedway (starring Elvis Presley and Victoria Paige Meyerink).Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences members and Independence Film Fest of Colorado founders, Lawrence David Foldes and Meyerink, will speak live from the red carpet at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood to dinner party attendees in Twin Lakes. Foldes and Meyerink will be informing Hollywoods elite at the Oscar telecast about the new Colorado film event, and will interact live with Leadville, Buena Vista and Twin Lakes residents via cellular technology.The Academy Awards Ceremony will be the last stop for Foldes and Meyerink, who will be taking a cross-country journey back to Hollywood from Leadville with a genuine Oscar that has been on display in Leadville the last week. The limousine journey begins Friday and is meant to raise public awareness of this years inaugural Independence Film Fest of Colorado. The gourmet buffet dinner party on Sunday at Twin Lakes includes a fresh mixed greens salad with citrus vinaigrette dressing, garlic-thyme roasted chicken with ginger-butternut squash puree, authentic Indian vindaloo vegetable curry with basmati rice and a selection of house favorite desserts. There will also be an emcee for the event that begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are $45 per person with all proceeds going to the Independence Film Festival of Colorado.
