Water gods were good to the Blue

Thank you to the gods of water for bringing us the much needed rain. Thank you to the water gurus for opening the Dillon Dam over the Labor Day Weekend. The Blue River was fabulous for kayaking through the beautiful town of Silverthorne. Yes, Silverthorne is still beautiful from the river. I am sure the fish are thanking you, too, as the river is quite opaque by the time you reach Alpine Gardens. We should look into the value of opening the river each year, not only for the rafting companies, but to help reverse the degradation of riparian areas our development of this beautiful valley creates.
