We appreciate this community

Judy and Troy CarterWinchester, Tenn. and Frisco

Frisco is fortunate to have a wonderful new playground and is blessed with individuals and businesses that were willing to donate time, expertise, equipment and supplies to make that playground a reality.Having been involved in the building of a similar playground more than seven years ago in my Tennessee hometown, I know how much effort is required to bring such a dream to fruition. As a second homeowner here, I was thrilled to be asked to help in the Frisco Funground effort and to be able to contribute to this community. Though I only worked one day, mostly manning the volunteer registration area and making signs, I did help move a piece of framework and fill in some holes. All I can say, after seeing the finished playground this week, is “Wow!” God bless all the people who dedicated hours, weeks and months to the planning and execution of this fantastic play area. I hope their work will inspire others to volunteer when the need arises. I’ve often found that the smaller the community, the more people respond to requests for help.On another subject, my husband and I are impressed with the way businesses refer us to competitors when they cannot provide the product or service we need. I assure you that this is not common in most places we have lived or visited. Frisco and Summit County have many fine businesses offering a wide variety of goods. My husband remarked today that it must be the mountain air that makes us want to shop when we’re here. (He is NOT normally a shopper.)Sadly, this year’s stay in Frisco is rapidly coming to an end.
