Weather Channel’s Jim Cantore to speak in Breckenridge

Daily News staff report

Meteorologist Jim Cantore, known for his coverage of weather events from Katrina to Sandy, will be sharing his stories at a town-hall style meeting from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Double Tree in Breckenridge.

The talk is part of the Glen Gerberg Weather and Climate Summit at Breckenridge Ski Resort for the second consecutive year.

“We were so impressed with the community, the ski area and the level of interest locals have in the weather, that we decided it would be fun to include a public event in this year’s program,” conference organizer and director of the Weather Channel’s Global Forecast Center stated in a BSR release.

The conference, a gathering of scientists, researchers and television weather watchers, was established in 1985 to allow for regular exchange between the media and scientists.
