BRECKENRIDGE – The Breckenridge Music Institute (BMI) Orchestra adds a little majesty to summer nights this week.

Tuesday, Norman Krieger joins BMI musicians Jason Horowitz, Sandra Stimson, Kenneth Krause, Gary Moody and William Scharnberg in a concert featuring Ludwig van Beethoven’s Violin Sonata No. 8 and Sonata for Piano, Op. 31 No. 2 in D Minor (otherwise known as “The Tempest”), George Gershwin’s Three Piano Preludes and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Quintet for Piano and Winds.

Krieger is one of the most acclaimed pianists of his generation; he’s known for his depth, sensitivity and virtuosic flair.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge.

The magic continues at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Riverwalk with the Majesty of Brass concert, led by guest conductor Jack Burt.

The performance features various brass players of the BMI and includes Paul Dukas’ “Fanfare pour La Peri,” Leo Justinus Kauffmann’s “Musik,” Edvard Grieg’s “Funeral Music,” Bach’s “Toccata and Fugue in D Minor,” William Byrd’s “Earl of Oxford March,” Giovante Gabrielle’s “Canzona Septimi Toni,” Eric Ewazen’s Symphony in Brass and John Cheetham’s Keystone Celebration.
