Welcome to the Rocky Mountain Wedding Planner

GERALDINE HALDNER
wedding guide editor

Marriage is about commitment ” and so is getting married.

You may spend months scouting for that perfect dress or tuxedo, and when you find it, you may still have reservations, or worse, regrets. Is there an even better, more flattering garment out there?

By the time you’ve moved on to invitations, flowers, food, gifts, music and all the other necessary trimmings of a great celebration of love, you know what it takes to be committed ” hours of careful investigating, countless nosy questions, some haggling for better options and sometimes just the good sense to cut your losses and move on.

Planning a wedding is exhausting, bad for your nerves and may cause weight loss or gain ” come to think of it, it’s a lot like dating.

But there is an upside to it ” after all, it will culminate into the BIG DAY, the day you say “yes” to THE RIGHT ONE, and then there is hopefully a well-deserved vacation before you happily settle into the knowledge that you joined with someone who wants to grow old and wise with you.

And, just as with dating, getting a wedding off the ground will teach you a lot about yourself. How to deal with others, how to say “No” or “Yes,” how to prioritize, organize, delegate, compliment, negotiate. As the true master of ceremonies, you are charged with keeping the focus on the goal, keep expenses under budget, keep looking for maximum effect and ” most of all ” keep everything on time.

In other words, by the time you say “I do,” you are ready to run a Fortune 500 company ” or start a family.

We sincerely hope that the 2006 Rocky Mountain Wedding Planner can be a helpful tool to you until then.

Good luck in your planning and much happiness in your marriage.
