Weld officials investigate report of animal neglect

GREELEY – Weld County sheriff’s officials are investigating the deaths of 58 animals on a property where animal neglect was reported.Sheriff’s officials say an animal control unit officer found a number of animals including goats, dogs and cats with minimal water and no food at the property Sunday, along with the remains of two goats which appeared to have been eaten by another animal.Animal control officers returned to the property Monday and removed 46 live animals and 58 dead animals including goats, chickens and rabbits.Sheriff’s officials did not identify the property owner.
