Westbound Interstate 70 at Eisenhower Tunnel open after accident cleanup

Summit Daily staff reports

Westbound I-70 is now open at Loveland Pass (mm 216) following accident cleanup west of the Eisenhower Tunnel (mm 216)

Westbound I-70 was closed due to a jack-knife semi-truck west of the tunnel.

A snow slide earlier today closed Loveland Pass for more than three hours.

Department spokesman Joe Tucker said no injuries were reported from the snow slide this morning. He said driving was treacherous over Vail Pass, where several tractor-trailers jackknifed overnight. Those accidents were cleared and the highway reopened.

The National Weather Service said Friday travel over high mountain passes in northern and central Colorado will be difficult because of snow and blowing snow.
