Where are Silverthorne’s cops?

Jeff Johnson, Silverthorne

I’m writing in regard to the recent vandalism that has happened around Silverthorne lately. I know times are tough with the economy, funding, and gas prices, but to me I don’t see the presence of the police. Last year I would see them patrolling around and making themselves present. Since it’s been getting warmer out I’ve noticed cars hanging out in the skate park parking lot after dusk busting their music. Also, every time I drive by or walk by the police station, all the police cars are parked. Why is this? Why do we have so many police cars if they aren’t put to use?

I, as well as many other citizens of Silverthorne, love our town and don’t want it looking like the inner city with the vandalism that has been going on lately. To the police department, please put our tax money to work and do some more patrolling. With the warmer weather, bike patrolling could be a way to be more present if the gas prices have really cut into the budget that bad. I, by no means am writing saying the police are doing a bad job. I just hate seeing our town vandalized
