Where does Lindstrom get his numbers?

In the Monday News Mr. Gary Lindstrom, the Democratic Party candidate for our state House representative, was quoted as saying, “About 70 percent of health care costs go to administration. We need regulation on the insurance companies to get their attention.”A few days ago I received a bulletin from my health care insurer: Rocky Mountain Health Plans, containing a summary of their 2003 Annual Report. Its administrative expenses were reported as 13 percent of total expenses, less than one-fifth of the figure Mr. Lindstrom gave. Which makes me wonder from which insurance company’s annual report Mr. Lindstrom got his figures. Or perhaps he got them from Dan Rather?
