Where’s the common sense?

Aaron McFadden, Silverthorne

I know I’m not the only one who was driving on Highway 6 on Aug. 5. And I hope I’m not the only one who questions the construction on Highway 6. When you’re going to cause that much of a backup, how about at least letting the locals know what you are planning.

Not to mention, what was wrong in the first place? Why do we need to spend money on a median we don’t need? I’ve heard the police say that area needs one, but are they road engineers as well as law enforcement officers? The businesses that are there are already hurting from a slow economy. Do we really need to drive them out of existence?

And do we need to back up the highways, and the interstates to put an unnecessary ornament on an already functional intersection? Yes, in 10 years, we might look back and say, “Good thing we changed that back in 2002.” But don’t you think we could have planned this better, and waited till 2005?
