Why ban Home Depot?

Every time I go to the Home Depot in Avon, I see residents I know from Summit County. The fact is, Summit County shops at Home Depot. Home Depot is a welcomed relief from the local price gouging from our local retailer. Next, there is the employment that will be created from the store. I am not sure of the numbers, but it has to be better than nothing. Frisco Main Street is lovely with its shops and many real estate offices as it is. I can not see Home Depot changing this, but maybe non-local shoppers will be drawn to the town. The area already looks like urban shopping districts anywhere else, with fast food, Wal-Mart and lots of strip malls on both sides of the highway. Growth is inevitable, as is the local government’s want for more sale tax revenue. Something must pay for the fancy stone planter box medians that are redone every summer in Frisco.
