Why defend such men?
I find it astounding that Mr. Liddick keeps ending each weekly editorial with the passing week of the progress of the Democrat War in Iraq. Anything the Democrat Congress does is going to be vetoed by Bush. Instead, why doesn’t Mr. Liddick pontificate about all the remarkable achievements that the Rebublican President and his majority congress achieved in the past six years?Starting with leadership: one veto in six years? The leadership skills of former congressmen Tom Delay of Texas, Foley of Florida and Cunningham of California. That’s leadership? How about fiscal responsibilities that earmark a true Republican? A national debt that has balooned from $3.5 trillion dollars to $8.5 trillion. Absolutely incredible. Mr. Liddick lambasted the prosecution of Scooter Libby. I do believe that Attorney General Albert Gonzales signed off on the go ahead of that one. Libby was found guilty on 4 of 5 counts. Only a fool or someone very arrogant lies to the feds. Being that Bush, Cheney, Rove and Gonzales all approve of torture, why not torture Cheney, Rove and Libby to get to the truth about who spilled the beans of Valerie Plume being a CIA operative? After all, disclosing the name of a spy is aginst federal law and places our country in danger! Kind of discouraging that Plume’s name was discussed so freely among the Whitehouse staff – them being on top of the pryamid of patriotism and all. And this fine war. Up until last October “we were winning,” and “progress was being made daily.” Lies to start the war, lies to continue it and more than 3,200 dead American soldiers, more than 60,000 dead Iraqis and thousands of people crippled. Their lives are better now? More that 1.6 million Iraqis have left their homeland. Seventy percent of Iraqis want our soldiers to leave Iraq. Seventy percent of Americans disapprove of Bush’ s policies. President Bush mentioned in his most recent State of the Union speech about balancing the budget, the first time I heard that phrase out of his mouth. Going to cut spending on Headstart, sell off public lands. Tell us Mr. Liddick, what exactly have the Republicans and President Bush achieved? The bottom line is, George Bush is an idiot and Dick Cheney and Carl Rove are evil men.
