Wildernest homeowner disputes costs for proposed pathway alongside road

I read your March 14 story regarding the Wildernest pathway. As a homeowner of a unit in the Silverqueen East complex, I’ve only heard a little about this project. I am concerned about the huge scale of expense and development.

I live out of state and my concern is – who is paying for this project? As a homeowner, I do realize that something needs to be done about the drainage system but does it really have to be done with the 8-foot walkway path? Imagine the cost. Would it really save lives?

It seems every time I turn around, the Buffalo Mountain Metropolitan District wants more money in its pockets without the regard of the homeowners. What is going on? What happened to the voice of the people?

I could go on about all the recent monies the Silverqueen East homeowners association has requested and its “big plans”for the future but the bottom line is – why are all these plans being decided upon without much input from the homeowners?

Is it because a large majority of the homeowners are out of state?

What gives them the right to take it upon themselves to decide what our neighborhood needs?

I would appreciate any information you could give me as to what I need to do to voice my opinion on this project. I think it’s time we, the homeowners, who do not live locally, have a right to know who’s making all these decisions.
