Wildernest Road closure and detour scheduled for May

The Wildernest Road Bridge, between Stephens Way and South Adams Ave, will be closed for about 14 days during mid-late May for maintenance and resurfacing. The construction timeframe could change depending on weather conditions. A full roadway closure will be necessary for the duration of the project. Detour signage will direct motorists to the alternate recommended route. Stephens Way will remain open during the project, as will the segment of the Blue River Trail north of the bridge, but periodic trail closures may be experienced.

Although this project will cause some inconvenience to drivers, making repairs now will prevent potentially costlier future fixes with longer closures and will ensure that the bridge remains serviceable for many years to come.

The Silverthorne Public Works Department is asking for motorist cooperation to ensure roadway and construction safety during this construction project. Questions about this project can be directed to Dan Gietzen, town engineer at (970) 262-7354 or dgietzen@silverthorne.org.
