Wildlands Restoration Volunteers help lead South Park trail and road improvements
The Colorado based nonprofit — Wildlands Restoration Volunteers — is currently leading weekend-long projects around Fairplay throughout the month of August.
Three of the weekends (Aug. 2-3, Aug. 9-10 and Aug. 23-24) will be spent constructing the Crooked Trout Trail, a new path connecting Fairplay and Breckenridge. On the weekend on Aug. 16-17, volunteers will work to restore a decommissioned four-wheel-drive road as well as help establish a new sustainable trail on the south side of Sheep Mountain along Twelvemile Creek.
Individual volunteers and small groups are encouraged to join any project for a day or the whole weekend. Learn more or get involved at Wrv.VolunteerHub.com.

Summit Daily is embarking on a multiyear project to digitize its archives going back to 1989 and make them available to the public in partnership with the Colorado Historic Newspapers Collection. The full project is expected to cost about $165,000. All donations made in 2023 will go directly toward this project.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference.
