DURANGO, Colo. (AP) – A 40-year-old Cortez woman accused of driving drunk and causing a crash that killed two people on a motorcycle has been charged with two counts of vehicular homicide.

The Durango Herald (http://bit.ly/JTW09I ) reports Stacie Pierce-Green appeared in court Friday for the May 22 crash that killed 66-year-old Frank Steward and 65-year-old Jessica Steward of Tahoe Vista, Calif.

Authorities say Pierce-Green was headed west on U.S. Highway 160 near Hesperus when her vehicle crossed the center line and crashed head-on with the motorcycle. An arrest affidavit says she acknowledged drinking four beers and smoking marijuana at a friend’s house in Durango before the crash.

Pierce-Green is being held at the La Plata County jail without bail.
