Woman dies after shooting at credit union in Greeley

GREELEY One woman was jailed late Tuesday after allegedly shooting to death a longtime employee of a credit union here, police said.

The shooting occurred about 6:15 p.m. at the Colorado State Employees Credit Union, 2505 11th Ave., shortly after the business closed for the day.The victim was shot an unknown number of times in the parking lot, and pronounced dead at North Colorado Medical Center.

Officers located the alleged assailant in her car a short distance away. She was booked into the Weld County Jail.Greeley City Manager Roy Otto informed council members of the shooting after a work session. He identified the suspect only as a former police dispatcher and the wife of a Weld County sheriff’s office employee, and said the victim was the wife of a Greeley police officer.

A possible motive was not immediately released.
