Woman found dead in snow outside church

FORT COLLINS The body of a woman was found partially buried in the snow outside a church, authorities said.Larimer County coroner’s investigator Maury Miller identified her Monday as Patricia Wilkins-Wells, 59, of Fort Collins.Miller said the cause of death would be determined after an autopsy planned Tuesday.Four children discovered the body Sunday morning while they were playing outside Foothills Unitarian Church, police spokeswoman Rita Davis said. The children told their parents of the body, and police were called to the scene.Davis said there were no obvious signs of foul play.Wilkins-Wells was a professor of sociology at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley and also taught online courses at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, the Coloradoan reported on its Web site Monday.The newspaper said she was reported missing on Jan. 2 by family.
