CRAIG – A woman hoping to add an elective course on the Bible at Moffat County High School planned to present her idea at a school board meeting Feb. 27.Deborah Powell has collected 700 signatures for the idea. She said she was inspired to lobby for the class after watching a National Council on Bible Curriculum in Public Schools program on television in September. The course would teach the King James version of the Bible.”I’m expecting a good reaction, truly,” Powell said. “Out of all the people I’ve talked to, there’s maybe been a handful who have been opposed to it.”Superintendent Pete Bergmann said Powell would be allowed 20 to 30 minutes to present her proposal during the board’s work session. No decision was expected at the meeting.—Information from: The Craig Daily Press
