Work begins on new highway bridge in Breckenridge starting Wednesday


BRECKENRIDGE – Motorists in the Breckenridge area can expect a few slight delays beginning Wednesday, as construction crews start to set girders for a new bridge at North Park Avenue and Highway 9. The work is part of realigning Highway 9 away from Main Street, including a new bridge.Construction officials said the work will begin mid-morning and last through early evening with some minor effects to traffic. Work at Main Street and South Park Avenue is expected to continue through the end of June, with some shoulder closures and minor delays. French Street and Ridge Street serve as alternative routes.Call Brandie Bennett, public information manager for the project.
