Work on Mount Medaris for National Trails Day

DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORT

NEW CASTLE ” Volunteers are needed for the upcoming National Trails Day work day in New Castle, set for 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 2. The work day, co-sponsored by the Town of New Castle and Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers (RFOV) will improve sections of the Mount Medaris trail, which climbs the ridge between old town and Castle Valley. Volunteers will be working on trail maintenance and signage issues, as well as repairing an area with bad steps. Participants will receive an RFOV or National Trails Day T-shirt as well as dinner and a chance at prizes.
