Xcel Energy Foundation announces $7,300 for High Country Conservation Center

DENVER The Xcel Energy Foundation announced Wednesday a $7,300 grant will be awarded to the High Country Conservation Center in Frisco. The funding is part of an overall $109,300 investment statewide in energy efficiency and the environment. The grant will support the High Country Conservation Centers Renewable & Efficient Energy Project (REEP). Programs included in REEP are the Basic Energy Audit, which provides area residents and businesses with simple inspections and tips to increase energy efficiency, and the Fall Energy Efficiency Extravaganza, which highlights winter energy conservation tips specific to the mountain community. Minimizing our impact on the environment is one of our top priorities as a company, said Pat Vincent, president and CEO, Public Service Co. of Colorado, an Xcel Energy company.With that in mind, were happy to help environmental and nonprofit groups increase energy efficiency and environmental awareness in Colorado, he said.The Xcel Energy Foundation provides support for community organizations that work to improve the education, arts, culture and overall vitality of their communities. Foundation grants are determined annually and help meet the needs of communities across Colorado.
