Yellow Arrow Coffee in Breckenridge will host author J.G. “Judy” Matheny for a book talk on Thursday, Sept. 3 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The former Federal Bureau of Investigation special agent will present her new mystery novel, “Wilde at the Waldorf: First in the Samantha Wilde FBI Series.”

Matheny began her career as a special agent with the FBI in the Denver Office in 1980. The first woman agent from the state of Wyoming, she was transferred to the New York office of the FBI and spent most of her career as member of the FBI — New York Police Department (NYPD) Joint Terrorism Task Force. No stranger to the world of bombs and task forces, she draws from experience to infuse the first novel in her Samantha Wilde FBI Series, “Wilde at the Waldorf,” with mystery, murder and action.

Matheny holds a Master of Arts degree in journalism from New York University and is a nationally-recognized financial-crimes expert. She has lived in Summit County the past two years and hopes to make it her permanent home. She loves the outdoors and hikes, bikes and skis.
