You don’t have to watch

Vanessa Baum -Breckenridge

Although I do not usually defend large corporations, I feel that the tone of Carla Zinn Rigger’s letter in the Nov. 13 Summit Daily needs a response. If Ms. Rigger is indeed not the “hick and illiterate” scoffed at in her letter, she would know that this channel lineup change has been announced through a series of articles in this paper over the last few months.Furthermore, as anyone who picks up a copy of the local paper daily, or the Sunday Denver paper knows, TV listings are available. The Sunday Denver Post/ Rocky Mountain News even has a TV book that announces the week’s programming. If Ms. Rigger does not consider PA TV an inspirational channel, I am not sure what she is looking for.If she studied the new channel lineup closely she would see that Discovery, Disney, ABC Family, Nickelodeon, Hallmark, Animal Planet and A&E are all included.Ms. Rigger must also remember that not everyone in the cable viewing area is Christian. Some of us react with the horror that she did to “pornography” to those preachy Christian channels. She should do what I do to block out this unwanted programming, not watch it. Her V-chip-enabled TV should even be able to block it from her sight when flipping through the channels.Vanessa BaumBreckenridge
