The Friends of the Dillon Ranger District will open applications for its Youth Forest Stewards program on April 1, according to a news release.

The Youth Forest Stewards is a program that engages high school students ages 14-18 to work on seven projects throughout the summer, doing trail work and educational programs, the release states.

An education stipend is available upon completion of the program, and the Friends of the Dillon Ranger District also offers one or two $1,500 scholarships to a graduating senior attending Summit High School who has been a member of the Youth Forest Stewards crew.

More information on how to apply is available at FDRD.org/volunteer/youth-forest-stewards.
