For the record

The now resigned school board president, Marshall Denkinger, read the following statement at the school board meeting Wednesday.

I would like to read a brief statement of clarification this evening. I have become increasingly frustrated and angered by the rumors, misrepresentations and inaccurate assignments to me regarding statements that I have not made.

So, let me state a few things clearly.

In addition to the obvious personal costs I have previously mentioned, I left the school board because of actions and special agendas on the part of some board members, and some members of the Summit County Education Association.

I did not leave because of working relationship problems with the superintendent. I fully support the superintendent and her work, as I have from the beginning of her tenure.

So, let’s stop with the rumors.

Let’s stop with the misrepresentations.

Let’s stop with the misstatement of facts.

Let’s stop with the special agendas.

Let’s stop with the primary focus on adult issues in this educational community, and return the primary focus to improving educational excellence and challenge for all students in our district.
