Letter to the editor: Empowering women through theater in Summit County
Theatre SilCo board president
I’m writing today with deep pride and great enthusiasm to share an exciting new initiative from Theatre SilCo: 100 Women for the Arts. This is more than a campaign — it’s a celebration of the powerful role women play in shaping the cultural fabric of our mountain community.
Theatre SilCo has always believed in the transformative power of the performing arts to uplift, inspire and connect us. With 100 Women for the Arts, we are inviting women in Summit County and beyond to stand together in support of storytelling that reflects the strength, depth and diversity of our experiences. This initiative champions women’s voices on the stage and behind the scenes.
By joining this movement, each participant becomes part of a collective legacy that ensures Theatre SilCo can continue producing bold, meaningful, and inclusive theatre. Whether you’re a life-long arts advocate or a new supporter, your voice and presence matter. If you would like to get involved, please review this webpage for more information, and reach out to Theatre staff with any questions: TheSilco.org/100-women-for-the-arts.
Together, we can make sure the arts not only survive — but thrive — in Summit County.

Summit Daily is embarking on a multiyear project to digitize its archives going back to 1989 and make them available to the public in partnership with the Colorado Historic Newspapers Collection. The full project is expected to cost about $165,000. All donations made in 2023 will go directly toward this project.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference.
