Letter to the Editor: If short-term rentals are unaffordable due to regulation, we won’t come
Minneapolis
Twice a year I organize a week long ski trip for a group of five to eight guys. Frequently the destination is Summit County. In the past I have organized family ski trips and couples groups ski trips. The accommodations for all of these trips have been short-term rentals.
Staying in hotels for these types of get togethers are not of interest. If because of restrictions such accommodations are not readily available or are too expensive in relation to other ski areas, Summit county will not be where we go. There are many alternatives. I am sure this is the case for many ski vacationers.
If the governmental authorities want our vacation dollars spent in Summit County they need to keep short-term rentals available.
