Letter to the editor: Our police helped protect our 1st Amendment rights
Silverthorne
This is a shout-out to our local police and the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, specifically, the town of Frisco Police Department officers who were present at the three “Hands Off” rallies held at Triangle Park at the corner of Colorado Highway 9 and Frisco Main Street. They have reached out, shown up, made their presence known without being intrusive and helped the rally participants feel served and protected. The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees this freedom to speak freely and peacefully assemble with others to petition our government for change. I am so proud of our local police force for helping protect our fundamental freedoms. Thank you from the Summit Women Warriors.
